In 2019, the City of Marion added a part-time event coordinator to expand on the programming currently being offered at its public venues such as the Klopfenstein Amphitheater and Uptown Artway. Look for more in the way of Tiny Fairs, Dog Fashion Shows and concerts in the Uptown Artway in coming years. Most events are supported in part by Marion's Hotel/Motel Grant Program.

Marion Arts Festival

3rd Saturday in May
The Marion Arts Festival is consistently named among the top tier of juried art events nationwide, presenting 50 artists, offering fine art and fine craft to an audience of 10,000. There are no bands, and there is no beer - the Marion Arts Festival is about the art.

Fireworks & Fireflies

July 3
Back by popular demand, Fireworks & Fireflies is Marion's new Independence Day community celebration. The free event takes place at the Klopfenstein Amphitheater at Lowe Park and includes live music, food trucks and fireworks at dusk.  

Swamp Fox Festival

Last Weekend in September
