The Traffic Division is responsible for maintaining and repairing the following in Marion:
- 38 Traffic Control Devices
- Approximately 7,900 Traffic and Roadway Signage
- Approximately 470 City Lights on Roadways and Trails
- Approximately 40 Lane Miles of Pavement Markings
- Approximately 1,200 Pavement Symbols
Traffic maintenance activities include the repair, maintenance and installation of traffic control devices (streets signs, roadway markings, traffic signals and street lighting).
Street sign maintenance operations are typically performed throughout the year and include the repair of damaged street signs, installation of new signs for subdivisions, and scheduled sign replacement programs.
The maintenance of roadway markings is typically performed during the summer season with the application of water-based traffic marking paint.
