The Public Services Department is closed to the public.
Curbside garbage and recycling collection will continue as scheduled. From March 30-April 10, the department will allow one extra free bag/container of garbage per household.
**Please be sure to have bins/containers at the curb before 7 a.m. on your collection day. Due to shift changes, you may notice your garbage being collected earlier than usual.
Curbside yard waste collection is expected to resume on Monday, April 6. The Yard Waste Drop-off Facility remains open weekdays from 7 a.m.-3:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.- 4:15 p.m.
- Bulk item collection is suspended.
- Recycling Drop-off Center is closed
- The Linn County Solid Waste Agency is closed to the public
The Public Service Department is responsible for maintaining the City’s infrastructure a safe, clean and efficient manner.
The department is responsible for:
- Street repair and maintenance
- Traffic control
- Street cleaning
- Snow and ice control
- Street signage
- Storm and sanitary sewer maintenance
- Garbage/recycling/yard waste collection
The Public Service Department’s objective is to provide city maintenance services in an efficient and responsive manner. The department includes 35 full-time and 2 part-time employees.
