The Public Services Department is responsible for maintaining the City’s infrastructure a safe, clean and efficient manner. In addition to citizen services and daily programmed maintenance activities, the Department coordinates various work schedules and construction projects throughout the city to improve and maintain Marion’s infrastructure.
The department is responsible for:
- Street repair and maintenance
- Traffic control
- Street cleaning
- Snow and ice control
- Street signage
- Storm and sanitary sewer maintenance
- Garbage/recycling/yard waste collection
The Public Services Department’s objective is to provide city maintenance services in an efficient and responsive manner. The Public Service Department includes 35 full-time and 2 part-time employees.
