The State of Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has completed its independent investigation and the Office of the Attorney General of Iowa has completed its review of this incident and concluded that the Feb. 4, 2026, officer-involved shooting was legally justified.

The moving process will begin on Thursday, March 5, with limited services available at Marion City Hall. On Friday, March 6, City Hall will be closed to walk-in traffic so that employees can clean, move furniture and relocate their workspaces to the first floor.

The program is designed to recognize and show appreciation for veterans and military personnel and their families with ties to Marion. The banners will be placed on as many as 50 decorative streetlight poles throughout the community. They will go up along with 40 banners that were sponsored in 2025.
