The Marion City Council meets in work session on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers, 1225 6th Avenue. Regular session meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the Thursday following each work session. All meetings are open to the public.

Will Brandt has lived in Marion for most of his life and is serving his third term on Marion City Council. A 1993 graduate of Linn-Mar High School, Brandt is a real estate agent with Skogman Realty. Prior to real estate he was in the furniture industry for over 12 years in the Marion/Cedar Rapids area, as well as in Wisconsin and Colorado.
Brandt currently serves on the Creekside Pride Committee, Marion Chamber of Commerce Special Events Committee, Uptown Marion Economic Restructuring Committee and the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Cedar Rapids Area Association of Realtors.
