The City of Marion will host a Sustainability Fair on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Lowe Park starting at 10 a.m. Residents can visit with a variety of businesses and organizations to learn about and access resources for living a ‘greener’ life.
Attendees can expect to gain a better understanding of water quality, solar power, hydroponics, solid waste, sustainable architecture, native plants and products that promote a sustainable lifestyle.
Representatives from the Public Works Department will promote the City’s stormwater reimbursement program for rain gardens, native plants, trees, barrels, soil quality restoration and pervious pavers. A food truck will be onsite, and attendees can also enjoy yard games and the beauty of Lowe Park.
This is a great educational opportunity for anyone interested in stepping up their environmental efforts and discovering existing initiatives to enhance and protect our community for future generations.
