Marion Lifts Winter Storm Parking Restriction

Post Date:11/30/2025 3:51 PM

Winter Storm Parking Restrictions Lifted
City crews have completed snow removal operations in Marion from the weekend storm. The on-street parking ban for all city streets has been lifted and on-street parking can resume. The ban was in place to minimize the hazards associated with snow removal operations.

Residential Snow Removal
Marion City code requires that property owners maintain their sidewalks and any snow and ice shall be cleared within 36 hours of the conclusion of the snow stopping.

Adopt-A-Hydrant
Residents and business owners are asked to keep fire hydrants closest to homes and businesses clear of snow. It is best to have a 3-foot clearance on all sides of the hydrant. Significant snow accumulation and drifts can hide fire hydrants, making them impossible to find quickly. In the event of a fire, firefighters often have to locate and shovel out fire hydrants before being able to connect to them.
