City of Marion partnering with HACAP to Host Food Drive through November

Several City facilities will accept non-perishable food items throughout the month of November.

At a time when area food pantries are seeing greater demand, the City of Marion is partnering with HACAP Food Reservoir to host a food drive to support those facing food insecurity. Donations will be redistributed to local food pantries by HACAP.
 
Several City facilities will accept non-perishable food items beginning next week through the end of November.
 
Donations may be brought to the following locations during normal business hours:
  • Thomas Park Administrative and Operations Facility, 343 Marion Blvd.
  • Marion Public Library, 1101 6th Ave.
  • Marion Police Headquarters, 6315 Hwy 151
  • Fire Station No. 1, 100 Irish Dr.
Financial donations can be directed to HACAP at www.hacap.org/donate.
Requested foods include reduced/low sodium canned chicken and/or tuna, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, canned fruits (in juice), no salt added canned vegetables, canned diced tomatoes, reduced/low sodium canned soup, dried beans, nuts and seeds, peanut butter, jasmine and basmati rice, dried fruits, and macaroni and cheese. Please, no glass packaging.
