The City of Marion has named four finalists invited to interview to become the City’s next chief of police.

The candidates (in alphabetical order by last name) are:

• Chad Nott, deputy chief with the Marion Police Department
• Doug Riniker, colonel and chief deputy at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office
• Jeremy Sprague, lieutenant at the Des Moines Police Department
• Schonella Stewart, commander at the Oak Park (Ill.) Police Department

The City has hired MGT Impact Solutions to assist with the recruitment process.

Interviews and a community open house are expected to take place in July, the dates have not yet been determined.
