ITC Midwest is in the process of removing the old line of power poles and installing new along the former railroad right-of-way owned by Interstate Power and Light (Alliant Energy), near the west end of Grand Avenue in Marion.
The City of Marion has requested that the poles be staked prior to public notification to allow the public to be aware of the impending work.
As of Monday, all of the current structure locations from 114-120 have already been staked. ITC has requested the proposed easement boundaries in this area to also be staked, but surveying hasn’t completed this yet. They also need to stake the new locations of structures 121 and 122.
The work will generally occur from Highway 100 to the substation at Hannah Park.
Construction work is expected to occur from Dec. 1, 2015 until March 31, 2016 and is not expected to encroach on private property.
