The weekly Marion Farmers’ Market at Taube Park (2200 31st St.) will be expanding its offerings and extending its hours beginning this Saturday, June 20. The market will be open from 8-11 a.m. on Saturdays and in addition to produce, baked goods and meats it will now offer artisan items and other handmade goods for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to wear masks and observe 6 feet of distance between themselves and others.
Several events that were once part of the community’s summer event schedule have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to those previously announced, the Lowe Park Music Under the Moon concert series sponsored by Veridian Credit Union and the 2020 Swamp Fox Festival have been postponed until 2021.
Community event organizers are working to determine appropriate alternatives in lieu of the traditional activities.
