Santa's Workshop Setting up Shop in the Former Maid-Rite Building
With new owners, the northeast corner of 10th Street and 7th Avenue in Uptown Marion is coming back to life. This holiday season create a new tradition and visit 1000 7th Avenue (the former Marion Maid-Rite location) as it is transformed into Santa’s Workshop. Community members are invited to visit with Santa and enjoy photo ops, cookies, and cocoa.
Santa’s Workshop will be open from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13, 14, 20 and 21.
“We know how special this building is to the community,” said Joe Hill, one of the building’s new owners. “Our hope is that Santa’s Workshop captures the excitement and allows others to see our vision for what the building will become.”
In the spirit of the holiday season, event organizers will collect new, twin-sized sheet sets, mattress pads, comforters, and pillows to support the Marion chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. The organization is dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering quality bunk beds to children and area families in need.
