Marion to Host Free Fireworks Display on July 3
Hanna Plumbing & Heating to Serve as Presenting Sponsor
Be part of a new Independence Day fireworks celebration in Marion.
On Wednesday, July 3, Marion will host a fireworks display, called Fireworks & Fireflies. This free event will take place on the eve of the holiday at the Klopfenstein Amphitheater at Lowe Park, 4500 N. 10th Street, Marion.
The idea surfaced through the ImagiNEXT community visioning process.
“Community input is a driving force in Marion. Many participants in our recent visioning process suggested that we host a local, professional fireworks display around the 4th of July,” said Jill Ackerman, president of the Marion Chamber of Commerce. “A group of volunteers has brought the idea to life and we look forward to the inaugural event on July 3 at Lowe Park.”
Plans include live music by The Bamboozlers before the fireworks show. Family-friendly activities, including patriotic face painting, a balloon artist and life-size games will be located throughout the park. The fun begins at 6 p.m. leading up to the fireworks at dusk.
Organizers are pleased to welcome Hanna Plumbing & Heating, Inc. as the event’s presenting sponsor.
“Hanna Plumbing & Heating is a Marion-based, family-owned business,” said owner Vicki Hanna. “We are proud to be part of a new event that brings friends and neighbors together to celebrate the holiday.”
Attendees will be able to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, beverages and food. Food will also be available for purchase through local food trucks. Attendees are asked to leave sparklers, fireworks and other flammable items at home. Please, no dogs or other pets.
The inaugural Marion Fireworks and Fireflies event is proud to be presented by Hanna Plumbing & Heating with additional Stars & Stripes level support from the Marion Chamber of Commerce and Summit Pointe Senior Living. Learn more at www.cityofmarion.org/fireworks.
