Marion to host City Showcase Event on April 26
Area children can bring their bikes and try their hand at a bike rodeo which is an obstacle course designed to help teach and practice bicycle safety.
Marion Police and Fire Departments will be offering infant car-seat safety checks and free bike helmet giveaways in partnership with the Linn County Safe Kids Coalition.
Various City vehicles will be on display and the Parks and Recreation Department will provide some interactive games. A local balloon artist, face painter and others will be on hand to make this a fun, festive activity for the entire family.
Mayor Bouska and City Council members will be serving cake and ice cream to commemorate the City’s 175th anniversary and attendees are encouraged to visit Uptown Marion restaurants and retailers while in the area.
Participants can work to get their “bingo” card stamped at the various booths and activity stations, and turn it in for a chance to win a Kindle Fire HD.
Come out and connect with the City of Marion on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in City Square Park. This is one of many events taking place as part of Marion’s 175th anniversary celebration. Learn more at www.cityofmarion.org.
