Woodland Care Days scheduled for Faulkes Heritage Woods

The City of Marion and Trees Forever are pleased to host a series of Woodland Care Days at Faulkes Heritage Woods. Organizers are seeking volunteers interested in working, learning and spending time with nature and helping to manage invasive plant species. Two dates remain:

Wed., Feb. 22 • 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Wed., Mar. 22 • 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Faulkes Heritage Woods   (located off Tama Street in southeast Cedar Rapids)

• Learn about native woodland ecosystems
• Care for one of the hidden gems in the Cedar Rapids area
• Remove and treat invasive Japanese barberry

Note to Volunteers: Please come prepared to work outdoors and wear sturdy leather work gloves if you have them. Volunteer hours count towards TreeKeepers requirement.
