City Offices to Close for Christmas & New Year's Holidays

Marion City Hall and other City offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Regular business hours resume on Monday, Dec. 28. City offices will also be closed on Thursday, Dec. 31 and Friday, Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday. Regular business hours resume on Monday, Jan. 4. Police, Fire and other critical City services will continue to be provided.

Marion Public Library will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The library will close at 2:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and will remain closed on Jan. 1.

Garbage and recycling will not be collected on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Pick-up will be delayed by a day for Friday routes each week. Residents are allowed one free extra bag of garbage the week following Christmas. Curbside collection of real Christmas trees in Marion will be provided from Jan. 4-15.

The Recycling Drop-off Center located at 195 35th Street will maintain its normal Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Utility payments will be accepted via either drop box located outside Marion City Hall. Drop boxes are located at the building entrance along 6th Avenue and near the 12th Street driveway entrance.
