All major streets in Marion that had been closed due to flooding have reopened. This includes 29th Avenue near Indian Creek School and 10th Street at Boyson Road. Winslow Road near the Indian Creek Bridge has also reopened, but drivers should expect partial closures today as repairs are made.
Some residential street closures are in place due to low-hanging power lines. Please obey Road Closed signs and find a different route.
Thomas Park, Legion Park and Boyson Trail remain closed and will likely be closed for a couple of weeks so that crews can make the necessary repairs.
The Public Service Department will be collecting storm and flood-related debris for Marion residents free of charge. Collection begins today and will continue through Friday, July 11, 2014. Residents are asked to place all storm and flood-related debris between the sidewalk and curb for collection.
