Fire Station No. 2Marion's Fire Department is charged with the responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Marion.

Whether the emergency is fire, illness, trauma, hazardous materials release, or special rescue, MFD maintains a trained staff and well-equipped vehicles to meet this responsibility. Weekly call logs are available on this site. 

In addition to emergency response, the Department also provides effective emergency prevention activities such as fire code enforcement, inspections and public education.

Marion currently maintains two fire stations, one on the east and one on the west end of town. Fire Station No. 1, located at 600 8th Avenue, can be reached by phoning (319) 377-8238. Fire Station No. 2, located at 3933 Katz Drive, serves as the administration offices and can be reached by phoning (319) 377-8237. As always, the emergency fire alarm is activated by phoning 911. In the spring of 2005, Fire Department administration and staff completed an Ambulance Options Report which was presented to the City Council.

Marion's Fire Chief and head of the fire department is Terry Jackson.
