Plans will be available starting on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2019.
The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: Relay 2900 LF of 6” PVC Water Main, remove and replace 550 SY 6” PCC Driveways, install valves, fire hydrants and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents.
Work shall be completed by October 25, 2019.
Liquidated damages in the amount of $300 per working day will be assessed for work not completed within this time.
Engineer’s Estimate: $384,855.00

INFORMATION FOR DEVELOPERS AND CONTRACTORS
The Marion Municipal Water Works are governed by the Rules and Regulations Governing the Municipal Water Works in the City of Marion.
Please use the Marion Water Department Water Main Application Form for all new water main installations in Marion. Please have this filled out along with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) water schedule forms when the plan of improvements plan sets are initially submitted for department review and comments. There is a $100 charge for plan review per application.
Our Schedule of Fixed Charges covers current fees for meters, service calls and various other charges. Some of the most common fees are:
$200 per tap plus materials on all new water mains. Water department installs taps up to 2" in diameter.
$279 + tax for new 3/4" water meter for all new homes and businesses (price depends on meter size)
$1.00 per linear foot for new water main installation or $500 minimum charge which covers inspection and
