The following are projects that public notice has been sent via postcard.  The meetings are conducted at Marion City Hall (1225 6th Avenue) unless otherwise noted.  Project information is removed following final action  (approval / denial) by the Marion City Council.  If you are looking for a project not listed please contact the Marion Planning and Development Department at 319-743-6320.

 Zoning Code Amendment - Firework Sales

The City of Marion is seeking to amend Section 176.25 of the Marion Code of Ordinances to permit the sale of consumer fireworks within the Industrial zoning districts.  This proposed amendment will prohibit the sale of consumer fireworks in the commercial zoning districts.  The proposed amendment does not limit days / times that fireworks can be used within Marion City limits.

Linn-Aire Industrial Park 3rd Addition Final Plat

The applicant is seeking approval of a final plat located east of Highway 13 on Linn Aire Avenue. The property currently consists of two businesses on one lot where the desire is to sell one of the lots to the current tenant.

The City of Marion is request to rezone property located at 2274 5th Avenue from C-4, Warehouse Commercial to PD-R, Planned Development Residential. The City has been approached by a developer to do a redevelopment project on the site along with the property to the west (former EIC). The developer is in the process of applying for State tax credits, if awarded, the developer would move forward with the project.
