Abode Construction, approximately $2.3 million

The project will include the reconstruction of the Central Corridor Project from 26th Street to 31st Street including the roundabout near the old Marion Iron Site connecting 6th Avenue to 7th Avenue.

The project, a public/private partnership, includes the partial construction of the Central Corridor Project between 13th and 31st Streets by Abode Construction.

On May 10, 2014 a resolution approving a development agreement with Genesis Equities, LLC, including tax increment financing payments in an amount not to exceed $8,400,000 plus interest, was approved by City Council providing for the construction funding by the developer.

On Aug. 6, 2015 City Council approved a resolution regarding concurrence of a contract for the construction of the Central Corridor Project (26th St to 31st St – Stage I) by Genesis Equities, LLC, in the amount of $369,232.30.

The project will be constructed in stages with some lane closures and localized congestion when building the roundabout.

Approximate timeline of the 5 Stages and traffic control plans:
     Stage 1: 2016 June - August
     Stage 2: 2016 August - mid-September
     Stage 3: 2016 mid-September - October
     Stage 4: 2017 mid-April - mid-May
     Stage 5: 2017 mid-May - mid-June

PROGRESS UPDATE:East End Roundabout

 Project Status (as of 6.14.17):

  • 146 working days have been used
  • ~99% of the contract has been completed

Traffic barriers have been removed and the Contractor is finishing up punch list items before the project will be accepted by City Council. 

Working days and completion date will be set and controlled by the developer. The contractor has completed 80% of the Phase 2 contract.
