Please correct the field(s) marked in red below:

The Hotel/Motel Grant application process has moved to a fully electronic platform.  Applications must be submitted through the City of Marion's website.

Do not use the 'back/forward' buttons on your internet browser; instead, use the 'next/previous' buttons within the application (at the bottom of the page) to navigate to other pages.  All answers must be submitted at the same time; you will not have the option to save your work and come back to it at a later date.  It is highly recommended that you save your responses in a separate file and copy them into this electronic form to ensure your data isn't lost before submission. For your reference, please review the Hotel/Motel Grant Program which includes a list of application questions and scoring criteria.

Contact Rachel Bolender with any questions pertaining to the application process.

Qualified organizations for Hotel/Motel Grant funding include any exempt or non-profit entities or agencies of a local government whose activities or proposed project for the fiscal year will increase tourism within the City of Marion.

About the Hotel/Motel Grant Program
The City of Marion collects a seven percent room tax on overnight stays at hotel and motels in the community. Revenues from the tax may legally be used to fund projects that increase tourism and for public improvements. The City uses a formal grant application process to promote orderly and efficient use of the portion of room tax funds retained by the City.  City staff, City Council representatives, and Council-appointed citizens will review applications, determine recommended funding allocations, and make a recommendation to the Council for use of the funds.

All grant awards are to be requested and expended within 12 months after being awarded (July - June). If payout is not requested by the end of June, funds will be forfeited and revert back to the Hotel/Motel Fund.  No extensions will be accepted.  When completing the application, please only request funds that will be used July through June.

The City Council will make the final determination of projects to be awarded grant funds.  Administration of the project awards will be handled by City staff.

Please review the Hotel/Motel Grant Program for more information.  Any questions should be directed to:
