The City of Marion recognizes the right of the public to access public records maintained by the City in accordance with state law. In 2014, the City Council approved a Public Record Request Policy which defines the procedures and fees associated with handling public records requests. It is the policy of the City to respond in an orderly and expeditious manner in accordance with Iowa Code Chapter 22 to requests to inspect or receive copies of public records maintained by the City of Marion.
Requests for documents or information can be made by completing the Public Records Request Form. Once complete, the form can by submitted by:
- visiting or mailing to 1225 6th Avenue, Suite 170, Marion, IA 52302
- emailing the City Clerk’s Department, or
