Auction/Auctioneer

Before an auction takes place, auctioneers must obtain an Auction/Auctioneer License. 

To Apply:

  1. Review the Business License chapter of the Marion City Code
  2. Complete application
  3. Submit application with appropriate fee and any required documentation to either of the following:
    • City Clerk's Office, 1225 6th Avenue, Suite 110, Marion, IA 52302
    • Via email

Next Steps:

Once your application has been submitted, we will forward your application to the appropriate departments for approval.  This process can take two to six weeks. Upon approval, a license will be mailed to you at the mailing address listed on your application

Already Licensed:

If you have already obtained a license and need to report an upcoming auction, please complete and return an Auction Notification Form to either of the following:

  • City Clerk's Office, 1225 6th Avenue, Suite 110, Marion, IA 52302
  • Via email
