In 2017 Rene Gadelha was elected to Marion’s City Council. Earlier that year, she also was appointed to the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council. Rene enjoys governance at many levels, and in Marion, has participated in a variety of roles including with the Planning & Zoning Commission, the Blue Zones Committee, and the Linn-Mar School Board.
Residing in Ward 4 with her husband and two teenage daughters, Rene and her family moved to Iowa in 2011 from the east coast. Professionally, she is the Vice President of Curriculum Development for an Iowa-based technology company. Rene is a strong proponent of community involvement and her primary goal is to continue Marion’s progress in a responsible and collaborative manner.
