The Boyson Trail system from Boyson Rd to Hwy 100, Legion Park and Thomas Park are closed to the public. Access to Thomas Park will be limited to City staff only, until further notice. The public is reminded to observe and obey signage at the entrances of parks and trails.

Linn County property owners are reminded the second installment of property and mobile home taxes is due April 1, 2019, due to March 31 falling on a weekend. A penalty of one and one half percent will attach to late payments beginning April 2.

On Wednesday, July 3, Marion will host a fireworks display, called Fireworks & Fireflies. This free event will take place on the eve of the holiday at the Klopfenstein Amphitheater at Lowe Park, 4500 N. 10th Street, Marion.

The Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization seeks input from the public as they begin the planning process for the next long-range transportation plan to improve the Cedar Rapids Metro. The plan will guide the allocation of approximately $5 million in annual federal funding.

Marion City Hall will be closed to the public on Monday, Feb. 18 for cleaning. The Water Department will be open to accept payments and the Chamber/MEDCO offices will not be impacted.

The Marion Fire Department (MFD) is pleased to be named a $1,000 Walmart Community Grant award recipient. The funds will be used to purchase smoke detector batteries for the department’s Battery Up! program.
