Civil Rights Commission Speakers to Discuss New Center and Challenges LGBTQ Youth Face
The Marion Civil Rights Commission is hosting its fourth speaker in a new series to encourage dialogue relative to civil rights issues. The next presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 in the Council Chambers at Marion City Hall (1225 6th Avenue, Marion).
Lori Ampey, Tanager Place LGBTQ Coordinator and Mike Hines, Tanager Place VP of Programs will be the featured presenters. They will share information about the new Tanager Place LGBTQ Youth Center and discuss the challenges that LGBTQ youth face in the school system and in the community. In addition, Ampey and Hines will provide community resources.
Make plans now to attend Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Marion City Hall. Look for additional speaker events to be scheduled throughout the year.
