Open House set for January 9 to Gather Input on Future Improvements at Lowe Park
Join the Marion Parks and Recreation Department on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 between 5:30-7 p.m. to provide input on the next phase of improvements scheduled at Lowe Park. An all-inclusive playground, open air pavilion and restroom facility are planned near the south entrance to the park at Irish Drive. The open house will take place at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center, 4500 N. 10th Street in Marion.
Lowe Park is Marion’s largest park, spanning 180 acres and stretching from Alburnett Road to North 10th Street. A south entrance at Irish Drive and two parking lots were constructed in recent years. The Parks and Recreation Department is working with MSA Consultants to further develop the area as a neighborhood park with the addition of the community’s first all-inclusive playground structure, as well as an open air pavilion and restroom facility.
Open house attendees will have the opportunity to react to conceptual drawings of the proposed amenities and provide additional ideas and feedback.
