Marion Firefighters Association to Offer Scholarships
For the first time, the Marion Firefighter’s Association is pleased to offer a $500 scholarship to one graduating senior from Marion High School and one graduating senior from Linn-Mar High School.
The Marion Firefighters Association (MFFA) is an independent body of Volunteer and Career Firefighters that serve the City of Marion, Iowa and the Marion Township. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students in the community seeking a career path in Fire Science and/or EMT/Paramedic fields. In order to obtain careers in these fields, people are required to obtain many designations that can be costly. By providing such a scholarship, it is MFFA’s desire to encourage students to seek such a rewarding and needed career path for not only the Marion community but all communities.
Requirements: Graduating senior from Marion High School or Linn-Mar High School attending a two or four-year college pursuing a career in Fire Science and/or EMT/Paramedic fields. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required.
Qualified high school seniors should contact their respective school foundation to learn how to apply.
