This is an exciting time to join the Marion Public Library! With a building project on the horizon and a rapidly growing community, we are in the unique position to re-craft our core services and offerings to best meet the needs of our users. In addition to fulfilling the role of a traditional public library, we want to delight our patrons and inspire them to explore new experiences both within the library’s walls and in the broader community.

We are making changes and trying new things, and we’re looking for a Coordinator of Library Promotion, Marketing, and Development to help us meet and exceed the needs of our community. Reporting to the Library Director, the Coordinator will serve as part of the library’s leadership team and work closely with the Marion Public Library staff, the Marion Public Library Foundation, the Friends of the Marion Public Library, community groups, and individuals to lead strategic, effective promotion and marketing campaigns for library services and initiatives. The Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing a social networking policy for the library. The Coordinator will play a leadership role in the capital campaign for our new building, including working with our development partners. Additionally, the Coordinator will identify grants and other nontraditional funding sources, managing the application processes, record-keeping, and final reports. The successful candidate will be able to set and meet short- and long-term goals, operate in a fast-paced environment, possess authentic political savvy, and be able to effectively set priorities. This position requires the ability to successfully navigate the spaces between library administration, the Library Foundation, other divisions of local government, area businesses and organizations, and the community.

This position is full time (40 hours/week) and includes evening and weekend hours.  Please review the job description for full details.   Salary range starts at $41,265 annually ($51,825 for candidates with an MLS/MLIS), commensurate with relevant experience, and includes a competitive benefits package.
